Best Andriod Apps

I am android user for quite a time now. In this time I have discovered several useful and interesting apps.
I don’t know if you guys will find them as useful as I do. All the same, here are few of them listed below:

Pulse:
My most favourite app. Getting bored? Want some interesting news stories? Pulse takes the responsibility of collecting these stories from famous newspapers and summarizes them for you on one platform. There are several categories available. Science (most favourite), Technology, Design and Architecture, entertainment, and even women fashion!
So now you will know when scientists discover some supermassive black hole in centre of a remote galaxy, or when they find ice on Mercury’s North pole, or when they try to detect dark matter on earth! You want iphone 5 news? Pulse will bring you stories.
Another good feature is that you can save news stories and read them offline afterwards.

Remote Web Desktop:
Control your smart phone from anywhere in the world! All you have to do is to start the server on phone and then go to a URL that will lead you straight to your phone. You can send and receive SMS, make phone calls, have a complete remote desktop control and access to terminator (only if your phone is rooted), and convert you cell phone into remote web-cam. All these facilities in one app. Enjoy :)

AndroMouse:

There are several wifi mouse apps on android market. This is the only one that worked for me (don’t know why :/). Well, now you can convert your phone into a wifi mouse (rather touch pad). Give your presentations in a classy style and impress everyone!
Your phone should be connected to internet. And the laptop/desktop should be connected to same network. You’ll have to install AndroMouse server on your laptop/desktop, which is quite an easy task.

Moon Reader:

Best for reading novels and short stories. If you are tired of reading on a same plane screen of Adobe Reader, this is the app you are looking for. It comes with several themes, day and night mode, brightness adjustments and so on..

Dock4Driod:

Missing your windows dock? Download this beautiful and highly customizable dock from the market and enjoy!

A.I.type keyboard:

With several in-built themes (including iphone keyboard theme) this is the best keyboard ever, I have to say. The free version has a trial period after which the suggestions won't work but rest of features will be available.

Mixing Basic:

I don’t know if people will agree or not yet I have found this one the best media player app. It can play several music and video formats for you. It comes with locked screen widget, which is the best part indeed.

Piano Perfect:
Convert your phone into a piano. Now available with multiple instruments and several template tunes. Tap, play and enjoy :)

WiFi Keyboard:

I would have talked a lot about this app if I hadn’t discovered Remote Web Desktop. If you find it difficult to type on touch screen (especially when it’s small) or you are just tired of it, use this app to type on your phone from your laptop/desktop's keyboard.

Alchemy:
For all those chemistry lovers. You have four basic elements, fire, air, earth and water. Use them to make other complex things like life, DNA, dynamite, perfume, alcohol etc.

The Fall

For those who wanted to know what happened with me and my laptop:
Unlike my friend Mr. Gray I have a little capability to destroy electronic devices. You see I have this laptop for three years and during all this time, it performed perfectly well and its genuine windows remained intact. Well, everyday is not Sunday.. (or Good Friday, or Saturday :p) Things usually don't remain as they are. People are just the same. That's another discussion... May be some day later I will talk about this too..
My laptop was suffering from a disease called 'Heating Problem'. There could be two major reasons:
  • It needed cleansing
  • Something had gone terribly wrong.. Some internal delicate circuit was damaged
One of my friend's laptop was suffering this second malignant disease and her laptop died after few months. I couldn't let this happen to my beloved laptop. So I decided to consult some doctor. That was my first mistake. He and his staff took out each and every bolt of this poor machine, cleaned its delicate circuits with a painting brush! and returned it to me after an hour operation. Turns out my laptop needed cleaning. I forgot to tell you first that my laptop's LCD was also problematic. The colours got distorted sometimes..
Well, this was the outcome of 'the service':
  • My laptop was free of this heating problem
  • LCD was back to normal
I was happy. However, later I discovered few horrible after effects (more precisely, side effects) of 'the service'. Interestingly, problems showed up one by one in irregular intervals on time axis
  • Two USB ports were gone!
  • The Linux system crashed
  • Windows got stuck in an infinite loop of starting, Configuring, and shutting down!
  • AVG started declaring windows file as viruses! (few of them though)
Well, I solved problem second and third. First and last are still there. But the interesting thing is that I am blogging through same poor laptop right now. It is working. Ubuntu works really well and windows causes problems now and then. Sometimes it won't run any software. Sometimes explorer.exe would get stuck in an infinite loop of stopped working and restarting. Sometimes it gives me several notifications about corrupt files that are actually windows files. Anyways it is working..

Surely I can't let it be like that for a long time. I was already fed up of this windows and I am soon going to reinstall it...

So, people, this was the sad story of my laptop's devastation. Hope you enjoyed it :(

Usually I don't stay up at these hours. I never compromise my sleep with anything. Today, however, I wanted to write something... Any random thing. It's my final year and tomorrow is my computer networks exam. What can possibly be more suitable time for me to blog!
Speaking of Networks, interesting subject it is! really interesting. You find one thing, you google it, you find another and your never-ending fun-search goes on.. For instance I was studying routers yesterday. I came across ARP. I googled it and I found some ARP spoofing over there and then IP spoofing and then MAC address spoofing and the story has just begun here..
My readers should have observed by now that I am kind of a random person with random obsessions. My latest obsessions, for example, are reading, finding apps for my phone :p and learning difference between American and British accent. I have just recently find out that there is a lot of difference between the two. In fact I love the British accent..
Lastly, I just can't help narrating the story of my laptop disaster. Well.. umm.. May be some other time. Its a long and sad story.. And gosh! look at the time! 10:40.. Time to sleep :D Sweet dreams :)

Career confusion

When I was a kid, like a really small kid, I had a dream of becoming a teacher or a doctor. As I grew up a little I realized that becoming a doctor was indeed not an option. (As I used to watch my aunt lost deep in books all the time) Still I was in favor of becoming a teacher. So, when I grew up a little bit more I realized that it was not an option either. I had no or poor teaching skills. (It was easy for me to reach this conclusion as I used to teach my little brothers and not a single day of teaching had passed without me losing my temper :p) I had no interest in Mathematics till I was in fourth class. May be it was because of my sweet teacher Madam Shagufta that I finally became successful in developing interest in maths.

I never liked Biology as a subject while I was in Matric. I was quite clear in my mind that I was going to become an engineer. After getting my Matric results, it was made crystal clear that I was going to keep maths in F.Sc. My performance in F.Sc showed that my decision was absolutely right.
And today I am an engineering student. But...............................
My career confusion starts here. It's not that I don't like engineering. The problem is (or is this really a problem?) that I am interested in so many other things. Oh yeah! I want to become a journalist too, a reporter. The reporter's job fascinates me a lot. They dig the information systematically and then compile it, present it in an interesting way. I love it! (Actually I love the mystery-solving part) And then I want to become a writer. "Want to? Want to? You are a writer!" (Never mind! It was the voice of my heart :p) I know that I am not a good writer but for one thing I am sure; I can become a good writer. I have got a potential to.
And now when I have passed more than half of my engineering course, I think it often that I should have applied for GDP pilot course at least once in my life. *sighs. The time cannot be reversed now....
While my father was telling me about the advantages of becoming a bureaucrat, I said it all of sudden:
umm.... Dad! I want to pass the CSS exam but not for getting bureaucracy...
He was like:
Then?
I want to join the Police department!
was my reply and he was completely shocked.
WHAT?? Police. No, no my child its NOT a good department! NOT at all.... (and the lecture continues..)
Similarly on a one good day while I was chatting with my mom I dropped my idea on her, "Mom! What if I apply for a job in The Federal Board after graduation?" She raised her eyebrows and snapped, "And you will  do there what? Check papers?" It was enough for me. The horror of checking papers brought me back from my mental picture of working in Federal Board office.
After reading this post you will conclude that I am quite unclear about my career. It is the case. I am unclear. But it doesn't implies that I don't know my destiny. I do. The problem is I don't know the right path to choose that will take me to it. I leave it on my Lord to choose the best path for me........

Freedom

Free at last! I feel like a free elf today. The new semester is going to start very soon but still there are 10 days of freedom!!! :)

I was quite happy yesterday. Not because I had made both projects and they were giving desired results. The reason was in fact quite different. I completed all missions of Call of Duty Black mobile ops yesterday. *Celebrations*
And now I am looking forward to the day when I will have completed all missions of GTA too...
So theoretically, it was the last day of the semester today but practically speaking we still have got to revisit our the college to see our Amaal nama (marked papers). Apparently the college admin has tried it best to ruin the rest of holidays.
The Event of today:
It was quite embarrassing for me when our respected teacher asked me to show Hagrid's number to him. (This Hagrid is our another teacher :p) The problematic thing was that I was keeping his number under the name Hagrid in my phone:p  So I had to edit the contact details at top speed trying my best to avoid the curious looks from my respected teacher. And finally I showed him the number with Hagrid's real name! *sighs

So my advice to my readers is: Be careful while adding a contact detail of your teacher to your phone.. :p
P.S Engineering is not about making right things. It is about making a wrong thing look like a right one..... :p
I knew that this Monday was going to be hell! Seriously. Signals, 2 hour DSD and then the project submission! Thank God! The project has been delayed! It isn't like that  my project is incomplete. It is very much complete indeed but still missing all those shaskey that are expected from us. For one thing I am more than sure. My friend is luckier than me. The one and only Mr.Gray will now have plenty of time! I hope your project is completed soon...

Why does everyone get so depressed! Don't people have any reason to stay happy! Even this episode of The Vampire Diaries was also quite depressing. The repetitions of events will drive me mad one day. (Despite of the fact I would suggest The Royal Abbasi to watch it anyways and Mr.Gray to stop telling Abbasi that Game of Thrones is better! :p)
And now I guess I must leave. Time to study....

Whatever title you think is suitable :p

It was a general idea of mine that one should not post about his/her nerdy obsessions on the blog. It seems that my blog has already conflicted this general idea of mine. So, now I feel free to write whatever I want!
Last time I posted about my obsession with antennas in particular and transmission devices in general. The problematic event is that I am constantly facing failure in designing the antenna specified in semester project. Alas! What a pity! Things usually don't work as they should. My designed antenna is supposed to support two frequencies. And frankly speaking, all designs that I have made till now support a number of frequencies :p
In fact "Call of Duty Black ops mobile" is a source of greater entertainment for me nowadays. I like the systematic approach of destroying enemy. I play it on cell phone and its graphics are not that good but I am sure Call of duty mw3 will be more interesting...
 So this is it!
Finals are approaching (they always do approach one day :p) And two lab evaluations are waiting for me. I wish this is all over as soon as possible because I have got to play "Call of duty mw3" (as if I am not playing it during these tough days! :p). I have got to complete all missions of GTA Vice city. And I have got to watch new episodes of The Vampire Diaries. I am definitely looking forward to upcoming holidays :D
